Notes that connect

A reading becomes a note. A link becomes a starting point for understanding what surrounds it.

Write in your own words

Papyrus brings your historical notes together in a personal vault. Begin with a paragraph, then add headings, lists, quotations or callouts. A note can hold a short question or an in-depth subject; no compulsory record type is imposed.

Connect without making copies

Mention a note in a passage, or select a word to create a link. If the subject does not exist yet, you can create its note. Backlinks help you find the notes that refer to it.

One note can belong to several contexts. The Second World War can appear in a history of France and a history of Germany without duplicating its text. A simple mention does not automatically include all of that subject’s notes in your context.

A note for his life, a passage for the appeal of 18 June, a link to London. You choose the level of detail and the subjects to explore further.

Pick up the thread

Tabs keep your subjects close at hand. View two notes side by side, search for a title or passage, then return to the bigger picture. Importing or exporting an individual Markdown file lets you bring in or take away a note’s text.

Automatic import of a complete Obsidian or Notion vault with all its relationships is not available yet. Papyrus notes are currently text-only.
